Autumn (OOTD: Basic)

Autumn is by far my favourite time of year. I love the colours of autumn and I think autumn fashion is also my favourite; thick jumpers and scarfs.

Me and one of my friends decided to make the most of autumn and the lovely weather, so we went for a walk. My outfit consisted of a black denim skirt from missguided (£18), a black turtle neck from primark. I also got my scarf from primark and it was also only £4. Then finally my boots are from Zara (£29.99), I especially like these, as I have been looking for some everyday ankle boots for ages. I thought these were perfect as they are a little bit different as they have cut outs and a buckle so there is more to them than other just ankle boots; they are definitely going to be worn a lot this season.

As much as I miss summer, I am loving the cold nights, leaves falling off the trees and wearing scarfs and coats.
What is your favourite season?

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed!

P.s. I know it has been a while since I posted on this blog or on my instagram (@bxckymxrris), mainly due to personal reasons but also because back in September I started at university to study Digital Marketing which has been pretty full on, so it has taken me a while to organise my time so I have time for everything. So thanking for sticking around to still read my blog! I promise to post more frequently and be more active on my instagram.

High-end Beauty Haul

Today I thought I'd share with you some of the makeup products I have been purchasing recently. So recently I went on holiday to Spain and I bought back some euros so I thought I would treat myself towards some new makeup bits.

Whilst on holiday, my friend took her NAKED 3 palette with her and I used it a couple of times and I fell in love, it is such a pretty palette. When this palette first came out I was not interested as I normally go for more brown toned neutrals but since I used this, my opinion changed completely and I have used this every day since I got it. This palette is pretty pricey, but the quality is amazing and I also ordered it from Feel Unique meaning I got student discount, which is always a bonus.

In duty-free on the way home, there was a MAC stand and I noticed they had the prolong wear concealer so I thought I would pick it up as I have been looking at this concealer for a while. I picked up the shade NC15. From my experience of this concealer so far it is amazing and has such good coverage. As I loved the concealer so much I thought I would order the foundation as I have been looking for a full coverage foundation that I can use when I need more coverage. I ordered this online from MAC and received one of the sample Prep + Prime primer which I also love dearly.

Whilst browsing Feel Unique I came across the brand nude by nature, which is an Australian mineral makeup brand and a lot of it was on sale so I thought I would try some of their products. The first thing I got was the Luminous sheer liquid foundation, I have yet to try this product but the packaging from this brand is lovely.

The second thing I bought was the contouring palette you get a contour shade, a bronzing shade, and a highlight. All three are matte and highly pigmented. So far I have been loving this product it is the perfect palette for contouring and highlighting and so far would highly recommend this product. The rose gold packaging for this product is beautiful.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed! Also, I apologise for not posting in a while, but I hope to be back on track to posting regularly.

Current makeup favourites

Recently I have been trying out a lot of new makeup and reaching for things in my makeup collection that I don't normally go for, so I thought that I would share with youa few of the new things that I have been loving.

Barry M illuminating strobe cream in the shade '2 Iced Bronze' - £4.49
I have fallen in love with this product, as like everyone I have been obsessed with highlight recently and I love to use this as a base and they apply a powder highlight over the top. However, this does also look lovely by itself, which I tend to do more on days where I don't wear much makeup. It is very creamy meaning it blends well and leaves a lovely glow.

Stila 'Eyes are the window to the soul' palette  - £30
This has been the eyeshadow palette I have been reaching for ever since I got it. The quality of the eyeshadows are great and they are pigmented and blendable, everything you could want in an eyeshadow. The palette has a wide range of shades meaning you can create a lovely everyday look or create a more dramatic look for going out with. I would definitely recommend this palette to anyone who's looking for some new eyeshadows.

I have really been getting into contour recently and my friend recommended cream contour so I thought I would give it a shot and it think it is great. I use it as a base under powder bronzer, but I think it helps keep my powder bronzer on and just adds more definition to my face.

Urban Decay Primer Potion - £16
I have mentioned featured this so much on my Instagram and also on my blog and it's because I absolutely love it, it helps my eye makeup last all day without any creasing. At the end of the day when I take off my makeup, it looks exactly the same as when I applied it. It is classed as a high-end product and is quite pricey at £16 but it is definitely worth it.

So they are all the beauty things that I have been loving recently. I hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading!

GRWM: Prom

Last Friday (27th May) was my sixth form prom, so I thought I'd share with you how I decided to do my makeup for prom.

So firstly I used the MAC prep + prime primer, I got this as a sample when I made a mac order and it provides a great smooth base for you makeup and helps it last all night. Both my foundation and my concealer were from the Revlon Colorstay range, I recently wrote a post about this foundation so I'll link it here if you would like to find out more about this foundation. For highlight, I used both the Barry M strobe cream in the Shade '2' and the MAC mineralized skin finish in 'soft and gentle', to get that 10/10 glow.  Then for contour, I used the Benefit hoola bronzer to define my cheekbones and face but then I used the Nars 'laguna' bronzer to get an overall bronzed glow to my face. Then finally I lightly used the Sleek 'pomegranate' blush on my cheeks, so add some colour back to my face.

For my eyes I firstly used the Urban Decay primer portion to prime my eyes, I absolutely love this product as many of you will know, then I used mainly the Stila 'Eyes are the window to the soul' palette. So firstly I used 'heart' all over my lid and then I used 'thought' in my crease then I also used a little bit of 'character' and then from my Nars duo eyeshadow in 'brousse' i used the left shade and used those to darken the eye look up a bit. I also used 'light' to blend everything out then finally used 'kitten' on my inner corner. I then added some false lashes by Eylure, this was like the second time I've ever used them I really loved the way they made my lashes look. For mascara, i used the Bourjois one second mascara, which I have been absolutely loving recently. Finally, on my lips, i just decided to go for a nude and I used the Soap and Glory matte lipstick in 'super nude'.

I also decided to buy some false nails these are by Elegant touch and I absolutely loved them, they stayed on so well and looked so natural, so I will definitely be repurchasing these in the future.

So to end this post I thought I'd just add some photos from prom

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed!

Review: Revlon Colorstay Foundation

Recently I purchased the Revlon colorstay foundation as at Superdrug there was a 3 for 2 offer on Revlon products, so I thought I'd take advantage. The reason that persuaded me to buy this was the fact that this was the first ever foundation I bought and I remember loving it. But as it was my first I wanted to try others but since I have rebought this I have fallen in love with it. The colour range is great and I'm pretty sure they'll have one to match any skin tone; I got the shade 150 Buff and it is the perfect shade for me. The coverage is perfect and buildable without it being cakey, I also love now it has a pump with it never used to which means you no longer waste as much product. This foundation is more on the pricey side for a drugstore foundation, as it is £12.99 but I think it is definitely worth every penny.

Photos from my 18th birthday week!

Today I thought I would share with you some photos from my birthday week. My birthday was on the 9th of May and it was lovely! But also last week it was two of my other friends birthdays so it was a busy week, but here are some of my favourites.

I also got so many lovely presents, which I'm extremely grateful for! So thank you to anyone who got me something or a card I'm extremely thankful and also to anyone who wished me a happy birthday on Instagram! But instead of including all of my presents I thought I'd show you the more makeup and beauty bits!

Thank you for reading this post, hope you enjoyed even though it was most likely boring to most of you! But I think it will be a nice post to look back on in years to come!

Things I loved in April

As we have come to the end of April, I thought I would share with you what I have been loving this
month! It is terrifying how quick the year is going and that we are already in may, however, May and June are going to be some amazing months (despite exams!) and I can't wait!

The first thing I have been loving is the blush out of the Sleek Face Form Contour kit in the shade 'fair', I believe the blush is called 'rose gold' if you were to buy it separately from Sleek. However, this shade is meant to be a dupe for the Nars blush in 'orgasm' and it is lovely. It adds a nice pop of colour to your cheek with a slight simmer but still remains to look natural. I would definitely recommend this kit is you want a good blush, bronzer and highlight all in the same palette.

I have also been loving using my MAC mineralize skin finish in the shade 'soft and gentle' with my Real Techniques setting brush, which were both mentioned in my Feel Unique & MAC Haul (feel free to have a read!). I think these work wonderfully together, as the brush is the perfect size for my cheekbones.

I have been using and loving the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil for years and it is always going to be a favourite pencil eyeliner, the lasting power is great and it is a perfect black eyeliner for the water line.

So recently I have noticed that my hair has been quite dry and I was in Superdrug and noticed that they had their own hair oil with coconut and was fairly cheap (£3). I have never been one to buy products for my hair and was apprehensive to buy some expensive oil, however, I saw this one was for dry hair I thought it would try it out. I love this product, I have definitely noticed a difference in my hair, it is so much softer and looks so much healthier and for the price is definitely worth it.

In April, I watched the BBC 5-part series 'Thirteen' and it was amazing! I'd heard a lot about the programme so I thought I'd have a watch and once I started I was unable to stop and ended up watching all the episodes in one weekend. The show follows a girl who was captured at the age of 10 and then held for 13 years before she escapes and it explores finding her capture and what happened to her whilst she was in captured. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a new show to watch.

That is all that I have been loving in April, I hope you enjoyed and thank you for reading!

My everyday makeup look

Today I thought I would show you what makeup I use on a daily basis and how I use them!
So the first product I use is the Boujois City Radiance foundation and I apply this with my Real Techniques Expert Face brush. This foundation is such a lovely medium coverage foundation; it has a dewy finish but can be mattified with powder (if I do use powder I use the Rimmel Stay Matte powder, which works perfectly.). I definitely recommend this to someone looking for a new dewy foundation.

The next step in my makeup is filling in my eyebrow. I use the Natural Collection eyeshadow in the shade 'crushed walnut' this is the perfect shade for my eyebrows. My only flaw in this eyeshadow is that it is a little chalky, but for the price (£1.99) it is lovely.

For my contour I use the Benefit 'Hoola' bronzer; this is my favourite bronzer out of all the ones I have tried. The shade is perfect, it blends beautifully and doesn't look muddy or orange at all. Even though this product is a high-end product and I believe it costs around £23/£24 it is definitely worth the money. For my highlight I use the MAC Mineralsied Skin Finish in the shade 'Soft and Gentle' i have fallen in love with this highlight, it produces such a natural glow to your cheeks and it so blendable. I apply this with the Real Techniques Setting brush which is a perfect size for highlight.

For my eyes, I first prime my eyes with the Urban Decay Primer Potion in the shade 'original'. This is amazing! It helps your eyeshadow last all day without any creasing, again it's fairly pricey at £16 but I definitely think it is worth it.  For my eyeshadow recently I have rediscovered my love for the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics palette, as you can see from the picture this palette is well loved and close to running out. I have been using 'frisk' all over my lid and then blend 'cover' into my crease, both eyeshadows are matte and very blendable. They produce a lovely natural everyday eye look.  I then apply the Collection Fast Stroke eyeliner to create a small wing to my look. I swear by this eyeliner and have repurchased it so many times and its such a great product for the price! Finally, for my eyes I apply the Natural Collection mascara in 'lash length', again I think this mascara is extremely underrated and I wonderful product for £1.99.

Then finally I use the Soap&Glory Sexy Mother Pucker lipstick in the shade 'super nude'. This is a matte lipstick that is in a lovely peachy nude shade. The only downside to this product is that it is quite drying on the lips but this is expected with a matte lipstick. However, apart from that, it is a lovely shade that lasts a good amount of time before I have to reapply it.

So they are all the main products I use on an everyday basis. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed.

Getting to know me!

In today's post, I thought I would introduce myself and let you get to know me through various questions off different get to know me tags!

What is your name and how old are you?
My name is Becky. I'm 17, however, my 18th birthday is a matter of days away (May 9th) and I've never been more excited for a birthday before.

What will this blog be about?
This blog will be mainly beauty and lifestyle as that is what I'm interested in most, but I'm still interested in fashion so be prepared for some more fashion styled post now and then.

What do you plan to do in the future?
I have no idea, there are certain things I wouldn't mind doing but nothing that excites me so much that I want to do for the next 60 years.

What are you currently doing?
I am an A-level student, but only for the next two months or so, which is a terrifying thought! I do also have two jobs, one in a cafe and the other at Pizza Hut.

What are your hobbies?
I have a strong interest in photography, yet I'm still quite new to it all, so you'll have to bare with me. I also really like blogging. This is only my second post so you may be thinking how can it be a hobby? But I have been blogging for years on multiple blogs. Unfortunately, the only blog posts that still remain is this one and one from 2012/2013 which is extremely embarrassing.

What is your favourite social media platform?
My favourite social media platform is definitely Instagram; I rarely use the others. I try to post to Instagram as much as possible and I definitely am a feed perfectionist. However, my Instagram (bxckymxrris) is looking very sorry for its self right now as I have created a new one to post photos surrounding my blog.

How often do you plan to post?
I am going to aim to post at least one post a week, but hopefully more than that.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed! I also hope you learned a little more about me and what this blog will be about!

Makeup Haul | Feel Unique & MAC

Feel unique is a website that I've heard about but I never really looked on until I was given a 15% off voucher, so I was intrigued and decided to take a look. It is filled with pages and pages of makeup heaven, with hundreds of brands, so if you are looking for somewhere to browse for makeup I definitely recommend Feel Unique (not sponsored, I promise!).

The first thing I purchased was a new foundation, as this was the main reason I was buying makeup in the first place. I was previously using the beloved Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, but instead of repurchasing that I thought I would try something new and recently I had heard a lot about the new bourjois city radiance foundation. I have tried this foundation a couple of times now and I agree it is lovely, the colour is a perfect match to my skin (02 vanilla) and it is a good coverage foundation, I'd say medium coverage! So if you are looking for a new foundation I would recommend. It is priced at £9.99.

The next makeup product was the l'oreal infallible fixing mist, I decided to purchase this as I have wanted the urban decay setting spray for months, but I could not bring myself to spend £22 on it, so I decided to try and find a cheaper alternative and I have heard a lot about this from other girls blogs and youtube that I thought I'd try it out. I have used it for a couple of days and can definitely notice a difference in how my makeup lasts throughout the day, however, this does give a matte finish to your face so if you're more into a dewy look then I wouldn't recommend this for you! This is considerably cheaper than the urban decay one as it only £7.99.

I did, however, decide to buy the urban decay primer potion (original) as I have also wanted to buy this for years, but yet the £16 has put me off, however, I decided to just treat myself and purchase it as I have tried a sample in the past and fell in love with it, and no other has compared. It helps keep your eyeshadow on all day and without a crease in sight.

With an order a while ago from boohoo or missguided, one of the two. I received a code that meant I was able to get a makeup brush set worth £24 for free, so I couldn't pass up on that offer. It is the U Luxe Feel Unique brush set it comes with four brushes. I was most interested in the contour brush, which is super soft and a great brush, however, the brushes do appear to look quite cheap but for free they are decent quality.

The final thing I got was from MAC, a brand I usually stay away from due to testing on animals, however, there have been many debates on whether MAC actually tests on animals or not and I don't know what to believe. However, I have been looking at the MAC soft and gentle highlighter for years, as Sprinkle of Glitter used to swear by it, and as my other highlighter was running out I decided to again treat myself and I do not regret it, it is such a beautiful highlighter.  This highlighter does cost £24, but it worth every penny. It also came with a free sample of the prep + prime face primer by MAC, which I am yet to try but will definitely let you know if I like it in a future post.

So that is everything makeup related that I have bought recently and I hope you enjoyed reading!
